Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 1, 2026
Mailbox Time Machine, LLC. (“Mailbox Time Machine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of the families who use our services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, how we handle information relating to child recipients, and how you may request access to or deletion of your information.
Mailbox Time Machine provides historical-fiction subscription mail delivered to children and other recipients at the direction of an adult purchaser. Our website, checkout process, and customer account relationship are intended for adults, not children.
1. Information We Collect
When an adult purchases or interacts with Mailbox Time Machine, we may collect:
Purchaser Information
We may collect the purchaser’s:
• Name
• Billing and shipping address
• Email address
• Telephone number, if provided
• Order history
• Subscription selections
• Billing plan
• Customer service communications
Child or Gift Recipient Information
To personalize and deliver a subscription, we may collect information supplied by the adult purchaser, including:
• Child or recipient name
• Mailing address
• Campaign or adventure selected for the recipient
• Other personalization information voluntarily supplied by the purchaser
We do not need a child’s email address, telephone number, payment information, Social Security number, school information, or other unnecessary personal information in order to provide the subscription.
Payment Information
Payment transactions are processed by third-party payment processors, which may include Stripe, Payments AI, PayPal or others.
Mailbox Time Machine does not store full credit-card numbers, CVV security codes, bank-account credentials, or similar payment credentials in our own company database.
We may receive and retain limited transaction information from a payment processor, such as the amount paid, payment status, transaction identifier, payment method type, last four digits of a card where provided by the processor, and subscription or renewal information.
Website Information
Our website platform and service providers may automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, referral information, and cookies or similar technologies used for site functionality, security, analytics, and checkout.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
Process and manage purchases and subscriptions.
Personalize letters and other campaign materials.
Address and deliver physical mail to the intended recipient.
Process recurring subscription payments.
Communicate with the adult purchaser regarding an order, shipment, renewal, cancellation, payment problem, or customer-service issue.
Provide requested newsletters, offers, or marketing communications to adult customers.
Detect fraud, prevent misuse, secure our systems, and maintain business records.
Comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Improve our products, customer experience, and website.
We do not use a child recipient’s name or address to advertise or market products directly to that child.
3. Children’s Privacy
Mailbox Time Machine products are designed for children, but the Mailbox Time Machine website, checkout system, subscription account, and purchasing process are intended for adults age 18 or older.
We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to create accounts, purchase subscriptions, submit forms, provide contact information, or otherwise provide personal information to us online.
Any child-recipient name or mailing address that we maintain is expected to be provided by an adult purchaser for the limited purpose of personalizing and delivering the Mailbox Time Machine experience.
For example, a parent may purchase a subscription for a child living in the purchaser’s home, or a grandparent, aunt, uncle, family friend, or other adult may purchase a gift subscription for a child living at another address.
When an adult provides information relating to a child or other recipient, that adult represents that they have permission or another lawful basis to provide the information for the purpose of sending the requested gift or subscription.
We will not use child-recipient information to build advertising profiles, send marketing communications directly to children, or knowingly target children with behavioral advertising.
If we learn that personal information was submitted directly to us online by a child under 13 without appropriate adult involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
4. Multiple-Recipient and Gift Orders
Mailbox Time Machine allows purchasers to send subscriptions to children or other recipients at addresses different from the purchaser’s address, including multiple recipients in a single family or different households.
We use each recipient’s name, mailing address, and campaign selection only as reasonably necessary to personalize, produce, fulfill, and support that recipient’s subscription.
Recipient information is not added to our adult marketing list merely because the recipient receives a subscription.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell child-recipient information.
We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to operate Mailbox Time Machine, including to the following categories of service providers:
Payment processors. Payment and billing information may be processed by Stripe, Payments AI, PayPal, or another processor identified during checkout.
Printing, fulfillment, and mailing providers. A recipient’s name and mailing address may be disclosed to a printer, fulfillment provider, postal service, or delivery carrier as necessary to produce and deliver Mailbox Time Machine materials.
Website, email, and technology providers. Adult purchaser information may be processed by companies that help us operate our website, send transactional or marketing email, manage customer relationships, secure our systems, or provide technical support.
Professional and legal providers. We may disclose information to accountants, attorneys, insurers, financial institutions, or other professional advisers when reasonably necessary.
Legal requirements and business protection. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect our company, customers, employees, property, or rights.
If Mailbox Time Machine is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.
6. Marketing Communications
We may use the adult purchaser’s name and email address to send information about Mailbox Time Machine products, new campaigns, promotions, educational materials, and related offers.
Adult customers may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in the message or by contacting us.
Transactional messages concerning an active order, payment, delivery, cancellation, or customer-service issue may still be sent when necessary.
We do not send marketing emails, texts, or advertisements directly to child recipients based on information supplied for fulfillment.
7. Data Retention
We keep adult customer information for as long as reasonably necessary to administer subscriptions, provide customer service, maintain transaction and accounting records, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and operate our business.
We retain child-recipient information only for as long as reasonably necessary to personalize, fulfill, support, and complete the applicable subscription or gift order.
When child-recipient information is no longer reasonably necessary for those purposes, we will delete or de-identify it, subject to records we are legally required or reasonably required to retain for matters such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or legal compliance.
We do not maintain child-recipient information indefinitely merely for future advertising purposes.
8. Security
Mailbox Time Machine uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information.
No website, database, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Payment credentials are handled by our third-party payment processors rather than stored as full payment-card data in the Mailbox Time Machine company database.
9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
An adult purchaser may contact us to request:
Access to personal information we maintain about them or a child recipient associated with their order.
Correction of inaccurate contact, personalization, or mailing information.
Deletion of personal information.
Removal of a child recipient’s information.
Cancellation of marketing communications.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights.
Before fulfilling certain requests, we may need to verify the requester’s identity and relationship to the account or recipient.
10. How to Request Deletion
To request deletion of purchaser information or child-recipient information, email:
support@mailboxtimemachine.com
Use the subject line:
Privacy / Deletion Request
Please include enough information for us to locate the applicable account or subscription, such as the purchaser’s name and email address and, if relevant, the recipient’s first name.
Do not send payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive financial information by email.
We will process verified deletion requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Deletion may not include information we must retain for legitimate legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, chargeback, dispute-resolution, or other legally permitted purposes.
11. Third-Party Websites and Payment Services
Our website may link to or integrate services operated by third parties.
Stripe, Payments AI, PayPal, website platforms, and other service providers maintain their own privacy practices and policies. Their collection and handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies when they act independently of Mailbox Time Machine.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services, technology, vendors, or legal obligations change.
When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date shown at the top of this Policy and provide any additional notice required by law.
