Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 1, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern purchases from and use of services provided by Mailbox Time Machine, LLC. (“Mailbox Time Machine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By placing an order, purchasing a subscription, submitting payment information, or using the Mailbox Time Machine website, you agree to these Terms.

If you purchase Mailbox Time Machine as a gift for a child or another recipient, you, the adult purchaser, are the customer and the party agreeing to these Terms. The child recipient is not expected or required to agree to these Terms.

1. The Mailbox Time Machine Service

Mailbox Time Machine provides physical historical-fiction letters and related educational and entertainment materials delivered by mail.

Depending on the campaign and offer purchased, deliveries may include letters, maps, puzzles, activities, field notes, telegrams, stickers, replicas, keepsakes, parent discussion guides, or other themed materials.

The stories are inspired by real historical figures, places, events, writings, and time periods, but the Mailbox Time Machine experience includes historical fiction, dramatization, reconstructed conversations, imagined correspondence, and other creative elements.

Mailbox Time Machine should not be treated as a primary historical source or a substitute for formal academic materials.

2. Adult Purchases

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live to make a purchase.

Subscriptions are purchased and controlled by adults.

A child receiving Mailbox Time Machine materials is a gift or subscription recipient and is not required to create an account, provide payment information, or enter into a contract with Mailbox Time Machine.

3. Recipient Information

You are responsible for providing accurate:

Purchaser information.
Recipient name.
Mailing address.
Campaign selection.
Personalization information.
Billing information.

If you purchase for a child or recipient who does not live with you, you represent that you have permission or another lawful basis to provide that recipient’s name and mailing address so that Mailbox Time Machine may send the requested subscription or gift.

Mailbox Time Machine is not responsible for deliveries that fail because the purchaser supplied an incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or undeliverable address.

Please notify us promptly of address changes.

4. Subscription Plans

Mailbox Time Machine may offer monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, prepaid gift plans, bundles, classroom plans, special offers, or other subscription configurations.

The exact price, billing interval, number of recipients, number of campaigns, and other material terms applicable to your purchase will be displayed during checkout.

Monthly Subscriptions

If you select a monthly subscription, your payment method will be charged at checkout and automatically charged again approximately every month until you cancel.

Annual Subscriptions

If you select an annual subscription, you will be charged the annual price at checkout. Unless the checkout page states that the plan is non-renewing, the subscription will automatically renew approximately every 12 months at the then-applicable renewal price until canceled.

Prepaid or Gift Subscriptions

A prepaid or fixed-term gift subscription ends at the completion of the purchased term unless the checkout page clearly states that it automatically renews.

5. Automatic Renewal and Authorization to Charge

By purchasing an automatically renewing subscription, you expressly authorize Mailbox Time Machine and its payment processors to charge the payment method you provide for:

The initial purchase price.

Applicable shipping and taxes.

Recurring subscription charges.

Any other amount that you affirmatively agree to during checkout.

Recurring charges will continue at the frequency disclosed during checkout until you cancel.

You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.

If a payment fails, we may retry the payment, request an updated payment method, pause fulfillment, or cancel the subscription.

6. Prices and Changes

The price applicable to your initial purchase is the price disclosed during checkout.

Promotional, introductory, bundle, upsell, or discounted pricing may differ from future renewal pricing if that fact is clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.

We may change subscription pricing in the future. Any price change affecting a recurring subscription will apply only as permitted by law and after any advance notice required by law.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel an automatically renewing subscription at any time without a cancellation fee.

To avoid the next recurring charge, your cancellation must be completed before that renewal charge is processed.

If you cancel by email or through customer support rather than through an automated cancellation tool, we recommend submitting the request at least two business days before your next scheduled billing date so that we have time to process it before the charge is submitted.

Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless otherwise required by law or covered by our 30-Day Happiness Guarantee, cancellation does not ordinarily create a prorated refund for a billing period that has already begun.

After cancellation, deliveries already paid for may continue through the end of the applicable paid subscription period unless we confirm otherwise.

To cancel, use any cancellation method made available through your account or checkout platform, or contact:

support@mailboxtimemachine.com

8. Multiple Campaigns and Multiple Recipients

A purchaser may order two or more subscriptions or campaigns and may send them to the same recipient or different recipients at different mailing addresses.

The purchaser may select the same campaign for multiple recipients or different campaigns for different recipients, subject to available options.

Each recipient subscription may be treated separately for purposes of fulfillment, address changes, campaign selection, cancellations, replacements, and customer support.

9. Shipping and Delivery Schedule

Unless a product page or checkout offer states otherwise, Mailbox Time Machine schedules a new subscriber’s first delivery to ship within three business days after the order is successfully completed and we have all required payment, personalization, and address information.

Subsequent subscription mailings are generally sent approximately every two weeks on the 1st and 15th unless it falls on a weekend or national holiday and will then be mailed on the following regular business day.

“Ships within” refers to the date we place the item into the mailing or fulfillment process. It is not a guarantee of the date on which the postal carrier will deliver the item.

Actual delivery times can vary because of:

Postal service delays.
Weather.
Holidays.
Incorrect or incomplete addresses.
Temporary carrier disruptions.
Natural disasters.
Other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Occasional differences of several days between scheduled deliveries do not constitute a breach of these Terms.

10. Lost, Missing, or Damaged Mail

If a scheduled Mailbox Time Machine delivery does not arrive, please contact us at:

support@mailboxtimemachine.com

We may ask you to confirm the mailing address and allow a reasonable period for normal postal delays.

If we reasonably determine that a paid delivery was lost in the mail or arrived materially damaged, Mailbox Time Machine will ordinarily send a replacement at no additional charge.

Requests concerning a missing or damaged delivery should be made within 30 days of the expected delivery date whenever reasonably possible.

If repeated delivery failures occur at the same address, we may require address correction, use an alternative mailing method, pause the subscription, issue an appropriate credit, or provide another reasonable resolution.

11. 30-Day Happiness Guarantee

We want a child’s first Mailbox Time Machine delivery to feel special.

Accordingly, each new qualifying subscription is covered by our 30-Day Happiness Guarantee.

If the child receiving the subscription does not love the first delivery, the adult purchaser may contact us within 30 days after receiving that first delivery and request a refund.

For a timely qualifying request, Mailbox Time Machine will issue a full refund of the amount paid to Mailbox Time Machine for the affected initial subscription order.

You do not need to prove that the child disliked the product, submit a written explanation, or return the opened first letter unless we specifically state otherwise in the offer.

A request under the Happiness Guarantee also cancels future recurring charges for that affected subscription unless the purchaser expressly asks us to keep the subscription active.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method whenever reasonably possible.

Financial institutions and payment processors may require additional time to post a refund after we submit it.

The 30-Day Happiness Guarantee applies to the first delivery of a new qualifying subscription and is not intended to provide repeated refunds for multiple renewal periods.

Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation right provided by applicable law.

12. Refunds Outside the Happiness Guarantee

Except for the 30-Day Happiness Guarantee, lost or defective merchandise, an express written promotional offer, or rights provided by applicable law, payments for completed subscription periods are generally non-refundable.

We do not ordinarily provide prorated refunds merely because a customer chooses to cancel after a renewal has already been processed.

If we make a billing error, please contact us promptly so that we can investigate and correct it.

13. Returns and Personalized Materials

Many Mailbox Time Machine items are printed, personalized, prepared, or scheduled specifically for an individual recipient.

Except where covered by the Happiness Guarantee, received damaged or defective, or otherwise required by law, personalized materials may not be returnable after production has begun.

Separate product-specific return terms displayed during checkout will control if they provide more favorable rights.

14. Historical Fiction and Educational Content

Mailbox Time Machine takes historical accuracy seriously, but its letters are designed as immersive historical fiction for children and families.

Historical figures did not literally write the Mailbox Time Machine letters being delivered today.

Certain dialogue, scenes, letters, narration, transitions, or details may be fictionalized or reconstructed to create an engaging story while remaining grounded in historical settings and events.

Dates, interpretations, and historical scholarship can differ among sources, and historical understanding can change over time.

15. Intellectual Property

All original Mailbox Time Machine text, campaign structure, artwork, graphics, logos, designs, maps, puzzles, activities, packaging, website content, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Mailbox Time Machine, LLC. and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Purchasing a subscription gives you permission to use the materials for personal or household use.

Unless we provide written permission, you may not reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, upload, commercially exploit, or create competing products from Mailbox Time Machine materials.

Reasonable use by a parent or educator within the household or classroom covered by the purchased plan is permitted.

16. Customer Conduct

You agree not to:

Use the website or service for unlawful purposes.

Provide fraudulent payment information.

Attempt to obtain goods without payment.

Interfere with the operation or security of the website.

Copy or commercially exploit Mailbox Time Machine materials without authorization.

Submit information about another person for fraudulent, harassing, or unlawful purposes.

17. Third-Party Payment and Delivery Providers

Transactions may be processed through third parties including Stripe, Payments AI, PayPal and possibly others and will be identified at the time of checkout.

Physical deliveries may depend on postal carriers, printers, fulfillment partners, and other third parties.

Mailbox Time Machine is not responsible for an independent third party’s separate systems or services, although we remain responsible for providing the remedies expressly promised in these Terms, including our replacement policy and Happiness Guarantee.

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

Except for the express promises contained in these Terms, Mailbox Time Machine products and services are provided on an “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not promise that every child will respond to the educational materials in the same way, achieve a particular academic result, develop a particular reading level, or experience any specific educational outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mailbox Time Machine, LLC. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website, subscription service, or products.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mailbox Time Machine’s total liability arising from a particular subscription or order will not exceed the total amount paid to Mailbox Time Machine for that subscription or order during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

20. Events Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including postal interruptions, severe weather, natural disasters, government actions, labor disruptions, supply shortages, widespread carrier delays, telecommunications failures, or similar events.

We will use commercially reasonable efforts to resume normal fulfillment as soon as reasonably practical.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Changes will not retroactively alter charges already paid.

If a material change affects an automatically renewing subscription, we will provide any advance notice required by applicable law.

The Effective Date at the top of these Terms indicates when the current version became effective.

22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent mandatory consumer-protection laws of another jurisdiction apply.

Any court proceeding relating to these Terms shall be brought in the appropriate state or federal court located in Tulsa County, OK, unless applicable law gives the consumer a different non-waivable right.

23. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.

24. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the material terms shown during checkout, constitute the agreement between the purchaser and Mailbox Time Machine concerning the applicable purchase or subscription.

If a checkout page or written promotional offer gives the customer greater refund, cancellation, or other rights than these Terms, the more favorable customer-facing promise will control for that purchase.
